Self-Guided Tour

Mountain Road

Important Note:  Do NOT set your GPS for Cobb Hill Estate or it will likely take you through another town and up some old logging road on the other side of the mountain!

Instead, set GPS to 49 Prospect Street, Harrisville, NH which will take you to the Happy Cow that marks the beginning of the Mountain Road!

From the General Store, you will turn left onto Main Street, then quickly take RIGHT onto Prospect Street - you will go over a small bridge and may want to stop for a photo op if you have time as this Nationally Preserved Historic Village is breathtakingly GORGEOUS!

Stay on Prospect Street, go straight up Prospect Hill (don't worry if you see a Dead End sign), and when you get to the Happy Cow on your Right you'll know you're heading the right direction!

Immediately after the Happy Cow, you will see a pile of stacked rocks on your left (Rock Cairn) and a sign for Cobb Hill Estate.

Turn LEFT onto the Mountain Road (it might show up as Cobb Hill Road or Blod Hill Road on your GPS).

If you enjoy history, you should know that this road was laid out in 1776 - over 240+ years ago!  Amazing!!

Note:  Mountain Road may be bumpy at times as you climb up the Mountain.

You will know you're on the right road if you are climbing higher, and the brown signs on trees are also a sign that you are going in the right direction!

When you come to a dream-like lookout to your right (a field with Mount Monadnock in the background, you may want to pull over as there is a look-out up to your left with a stunning view and picnic table - it is highly suggested you check it out and while you are at it look to see if any of the "Girls" (our Scottish Highlander Long-horned Cattle) are grazing in this field!

As you continue up the Mountain Road, you'll see another look-out on your Left - the fencing you see is over 120 years old!  It came from a farm down in Pennsylvania and was moved up here over 50 years ago!

The fencing is made of Black Locust wood, which seemingly lasts forever!

This fencing is cherished by professional photographers and you will see it in many photos of Cobb Hill Estate!

Follow signs for the Main House, and wherever you have a choice, keep turning RIGHT and it will take you up to the Mountaintop.

We constantly hear from guests how much they love the road and the ride up, and the signs and sights along the way, so take your time - this is a self-paced tour so enjoy all the previews before you come to the crazy, stunning Mountaintop where the Vibe and Views simply can not be captured by a camera!

If you see this image above, then you made it to the Mountaintop - YAY!!!

After you park in the lot on your left, take your time approaching your next point of interest - the Barn, so you can soak up the experience and understand how your guests will react when they, too, arrive for your ceremony and celebration!
